Colorado Proposal- Matt and Taylor

Colorado Proposal- Matt and Taylor

Many, many years ago in my moms daycare, I met a girl named Taylor. I have fond memories of playing with her and we even stayed connected through the years. Now were both GROWN UPS, what the heck? In may I reached out for couples who were madly in love to help me build my portfolio. Taylor volunteered and she and Matt came and did a shoot.

I have photographed many different couples over the years, and I can instantly tell when two people have a magical connection.  It honestly reminds me of Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder, clearly MINT to be.  We had so much fun during our shoot and I had a first row seat to see how in love they were. I instantly thought to myself, I hope to photograph their wedding soon.

A few weeks ago Matt reached out to me about doing a surprise photo shoot. I knew instantly what he had in mind! Over the course of four weeks Matt and I figured out how to surprise Taylor and get them engaged.  I reached out to Taylor asking her if she and Matt would consider doing another portfolio shoot for me, but this time it would be at Echo Lake, and Id have an outfit for her.  She instantly agreed (phew!) and was so excited….from then on Matt and I just had to convince Taylor that everything was her idea.

I will let them tell the rest of their story, but from my end Taylor is a lucky girl. Matt is incredible and I love the lengths he went to make this happen for his girl.

Towards the very end of the photos you will see Taylors face when she figures out that this was all just part of the plan.

Congrats you two!!!!

She had no idea what was about to happen.

Dear Humans,

Look at these photos….

They are amazing, and I took them.

You should also hire me, and take these with me.

No, seriously.

What are you waiting for?

Lets do it.

This beautiful couple and I played in Rocky Mountain National Park, and hiked up to Dream lake. It’s just so dreamy! Candice found this dress on Etsy from Olivia Grace fashions, I was so excited when she showed up in it! What a lovely surprise.

They are madly in love and it was so fun to capture.

Elopements, anniversaries, just because. Lets do it.

Denver Boudoir and couples| 5 minutes of love.

Denver Boudoir and Couple Photographer

One of my favorite things in the world is to throw a couple together, and just let them have a moment. I was going through these trying to choose a couple favorites and I just loved every single one.

These two are amazing.

So much love in the span of five minutes

Littleton Colorado Elopement Photographer- Highland Bagpipes

Littleton Colorado Elopement photographer

I had this awesome idea to get to know my fellow entrepreneurs! I know how important word of mouth can be for a business and I wanted to be able to refer some awesome vendors to my clients!

First up is Randy- who provides bagpipe services!

How long have you been in Business?

I began studying the great highland bagpipes when my beard was brown, it’s mostly gray now. I’ve been actively performing for weddings and events for about 10 years.

Can you provide some photos of your work/space/talent? Attach them with your answers please..See attachments. Venues:

Dunafon Castle, Idledale Co., Highlands Ranch Mansion, Highlands Ranch, Co., Della Terra Event Center, Estes Park, Co.

If applicable how many people can you accommodate?

The size of the guest list doesn’t affect me. I just play the tunes.

How would you describe your brand? What makes you stand out in the industry? How would you describe your style?.

Years of performing has left a lot of tunes both written for bagpipes and non-bagpipe tunes rolling around in my head. The tune list is a team effort. I try to accommodate special requests but some tunes just don’t work out well. Face-to-face meetings are great. I try to find a halfway point, I don’t have a store front office.

Think of one of your favorite weddings, what did you like about it so much?

The bride, Rachel contacted me a year in advance from Queensland, Australia to play the pipes for her wedding at Dunafon Castle in Idledale. We actually met to discuss her plans. Yes, she came to Colorado a year early and put everything together in a weeks time. We built a tune list together and set a marching order for the wedding party. When the day arrived I was delighted to see all of the gentlemen in kilts. The groom, Michael had his kilt made in his Irish tartan, it wasn’t a rental. They all looked great. Rachel’s gown and veil were handcrafted and spectacular. All brides are lovely on their wedding day but Rachel will always standout. I played as the guests arrived, many of the men were kilted and some of the women wore tartan sashes. I had Rachel’s every confidence that we would making her wedding one to remembered for years to come.

What’s your best advice to a new client?

Oh, lots of advice. It’s best to stick with music set for bagpipes. I’ll make suggestions but don’t be afraid to ask about a tune you like. Mountain top weddings are nice and all but altitude will affect my performance. I have to inflate the beast. The air gets a bit thin at 9,000 feet. Trust me and most of all have fun. It’s your wedding!

Anything else you’d like to share?

You don’t need to have Celtic ancestry to have bagpipes at your wedding. Just have an idea for something new and different from the good old string quartet. Not that there’s anything wrong with violins. Please answer my emails and phone calls. Keep in touch. I can’t read your mind. Nobody likes a last minute surprise.

Colorado Elopement Photographer

I met Taylor when we were just little tikes! My mom used to run an in home daycare all through my childhood, and Taylor was one of my favorite kids to play with! She came over for many years and we would have many Power Ranger adventures in the fortress…or the basement.  Years later social Media came along and we reconnected! Taylor and Matthew are super adorable humans, full of puns and laughter. Their session as you will see radiates joy and happiness! They told me about this awesome tradition they have together called *Disconnect Wednesday* On Wednesdays they turn off all the devices, all the social media and just hang together. In this day and age I think thats so important, its so easy to get sucked in and forget the awesomeness sitting right in front of you. I am so looking forward to watching their beautiful relationship blossom, they were so MINT to be. (You had to be there)
